Camping at Pouch

Hello Pack 6 Campers!

Prepare for an experience you'd never thought you could have on Staten Island!  Camping begins at 6pm on Friday evening and runs through Sunday morning after breakfast.  Be sure to bring a flashlight, it's dark in the woods!

Be sure to click on the 'Camp Pouch Info' page at left to read more about Pouch, including a map attachment all the way at the bottom.

Pack 6 typically bunks in Maple Cabin.  While not exactly your 'Chocolates on the Pillow' accomodations you're hoping for, you'll find plenty of room for our Scouts to have tons of fun!  See the attachment at the bottom of this page for a map from the parking lot to the Maple Cabin.

To reach the Maple Cabin, park your car in the lot near the Scout Shop.  From the Scout Shop, follow signs towards Berlin Lodge, which is 200 yards down the main road.  Bear right at Berlin Lodge and continue towards Lake Ohrbach.  The Maple Cabin is another 100 yards down, the first cabin on your right.  As mentioned at our Den Meetings, there are 14 bunks available on a first come basis and plenty of room for tents.  Need help setting up your tent?  Don't worry - we're Scouts!

Restrooms are very close to our campsite and have running water and flush toilets.  Bring your own towels and soap!

All meals are prepared and served as a group.  Please have already eaten dinner on Friday evening prior to arriving.  Saturday we'll start the day with a hearty breakfast, followed by a great lunch and hefty dinner.  Generally we'll have an early breakfast on Sunday and hit the road home.

Click on the 'Forms and Info' page at left and check out the following information on Camping:
  • Camping Checklist (you don't need it all!)
  • The Guide to Safe Scouting (Especially chapter 3)
  • Greenbelt Hiking Map (we'll be hiking some of these trails)
  • Hug a Tree and Survive
Check back soon for more Info!
